Description: Bonita Bay is a 2,400-acre master-planned community just north of Naples in Bonita Springs. Located on Southwest Florida's ecologically sensitive gulf coast, the property incorporates a range of delicate ecosystems, from fresh- and saltwater marshes to mangrove stands, hardwood hammocks, a pristine river and creek, and Estero Bay that opens to the Gulf of Mexico.
Planners recognized that Bonita Bay required responsible and innovative development in order to preserve and enhance the environmental integrity of the site. At build-out, in 2010, fewer than 3,300 residences will have been constructed, a significantly lower density than the 9,240 units approved in the master plan. Intimate neighborhoods of single-family, villa, coach and carriage homes, as well as luxury high-rise condominiums, overlook the Gulf, bay, lakes, golf course property and nature preserves. More than 1,400 acres remain open space, including 230-acres of lakes, expansive nature preserve areas and 12 miles of bicycle and walking paths. The off-site golf courses, called Bonita Bay Club East, includes 895 acres of cypress wetlands, 190 acres of pine flats, lakes, hundreds of native sabal palms and open space. No residential development will ever occur on the site.
Location: Bonita Springs, located midway between Naples and Fort Myers is one of the nation's most active growth corridors. Less than three miles from Interstate 75 and only 20 minutes from Southwest Florida International Airport, Bonita Bay is bordered by Spring Creek to the north, the Imperial River to the south and the Estero Bay Aquatic Preserve to the west. The entrance is on U.S. 41, a short distance north of Bonita Beach Road.
Amenities: In addition to five championship golf courses, there are three waterfront parks, a private beach park, tennis center, fitness center and marina with access to the Gulf of Mexico.
Beach Park: Located on the Gulf of Mexico a short drive from Bonita Bay, the Beach Park offers residents a chance to swim, shell, and fish. It features an attended station, gazebo, picnic pavilions, beach chairs, showers and restroom facilities with infant changing stations.
Golf: Bonita Bay is the only community in Florida to offer five regulation golf courses for the exclusive use of its resident members. The three on-site golf courses are certified as Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary courses. The community's two off-site golf courses, located on 1,034 pure golf acres without any residential development, became the world's first private, 36-hole Audubon Signature Cooperative Sanctuary. Each golf course site is anchored by a country club with formal and informal dining rooms, lounges, pro shop, and men's and women's locker rooms.
Health & Fitness: A fitness center and a tennis and swim complex complete with eighteen hydro-grid tennis courts, a heated lap-sized swimming pool with cabana and dressing rooms are located across from the Bonita Bay Club, is available to resident members.
Marina Club: The Marina Club offers easy access to cruising, shelling and fishing on the Gulf of Mexico, Estero Bay and Imperial River. The marina can accommodate almost any craft with a maximum allowed draft of three feet. Ninety wet slips are offered in three sizes (optional lifts may be installed) while three large buildings house 330 dry slips for boats up to 36 feet in length. The Marina Club also includes a bait shop, fuel and service showers and dressing facilities and a fully stocked ships store. Members enjoy dining and social privileges at Backwater Jacks, the Marina Clubs private restaurant overlooking the marina basin and the center of activity for club events.
Community Information Channel: Bonita Bay offers its very own closed-circuit community information channel to keep residents up to date on community information and events and has launched an Intranet site for the exclusive use of residents. The Web site features a calendar of community events, answers to frequently asked questions, a directory of staff members and an automated system for making reservations to community events.

THE COURSES AT BONITA BAY
For even the most ardent souls hoping to challenge its design, Bonita Bay embodies everything artistic about the game of golf. Challenging yet fair. Championship yet not intimidating. But famed architects Tom Fazio and Arthur Hills have created five championship courses designed to challenge and accommodate resident-member golfers of every level.
The Marsh Course Weaving its way through the wetland terrain of Southwest Florida, this classic Arthur Hills course plays from 4,923 to 6,636 yards on five sets of tees. Each manicured fairway challenges you to place your tee shots carefully, lest you risk quickly losing sight of par.
The Creekside Course The broad, sweeping fairways and limited number of carries present on this Arthur Hills masterpiece is the challenge its 5,756 to 6,742 yards represents. The second shot is key here, you are asked to negotiate the many hills and moguls leading to the course's challenging greens.
The Bay Island Course Ranked among the best courses in Florida by Golf Digest. This competitive 6,107 to 7,045-yard course by Arthur Hills draws from the natural lay of the land to create a combination of challenges. Water hazards, sand traps and thick stands of oak and cypress await any errant shot.
The Cypress Course An impressive 5,999 to 7,077-yard course. Tom Fazio designed the par-72 Audubon International Signature Course. The longest of Bonita Bay's championship courses. Each of the "nines" is a different challenge, the front nine's spacious fairways and natural bunkering give way to the forested back nine's layout.
The Sabal Course Designated a Signature Course by Audubon International, The Sabal Course is a perfect marriage of difficulty and diversion. Tom Fazio's 6,029 to 7,038 yard design will delight novice golfers, while more seasoned players are challenged to swing for the pin, and sub-par scores, on nearly every hole.
MODEL GOLF , Bonita Bay is now proud to offer Model Golf to its members and guests! Model Golf is the first and only golf improvement program to combine biomechanics research, statistical analysis, and computer technology to identify performance ideals for golf. These ideals encompass the full swing and the all aspects of the short game, and are all embodied in the ModelPro, a computer generated, perfect golfer.
Bonita Bay has several membership opportunities available. For additional information on membership please contact: Membership Director at 1-800-277-1209 or 239-405-0869 .
