The Hot Caboose
Remember the Dixie Moon Café on Old 41 at Dean Street? The Hot Caboose, a new restaurant, will be opening soon at that location! Rey Nold, a Long Island native, eyed the vacant building for a while. As soon as it went on the market for rent, he contacted them right away. Previously he was a chef in Bonita Springs. The 86 year old building has been extensively renovated and will continue the city’s efforts to improve Old 41. It’s also going to add to the opening of Shangri-La Resort in April. Did you know the building was first Goodbread Grocery? Now you can enjoy Caribbean, American South, and Creole cuisine.
Other new businesses are also being attracted to Bonita Springs! Dr. Suzzy Lee, Dermatologist, moved from Naples. Thirteen new businesses were opened in February and generated about 30 jobs. In January there were 16 added employing 50 people. That’s really helpful to our local economy!

As a Realtor, I have observed the positive trend of new businesses opening in Bonita Springs by seeing the “distressed” properties being purchased. It’s definitely strengthening the area in so many ways! The steady attraction is even looking good for general contractors, including Kitchen Ideas Florida. Owner Rick Taylor chose Bonita Springs because of its central location and potential new clients. Business has been good and the economy is growing!
